thanksgiving

Today I'm soooooo happy It is "Friday" actually it is Tuesday but it feels like a Friday because we have a five days off!!!!It is turkey break!(LOL olive) so I have so many plans I'm excited.well I'm not exactly doing much on Wednesday. thanksgiving is over my house. And we have a 22 lb. turkey!!Every year there is a thanksgiving bowl on my bros league. The family is supposed to go but I hate bowling with my family! so now my dad has no partner I kind of feel bad but he'll find one.so I can sleep in and watch the parade. I don't really like the parade that much because it takes to long to start.....and end.I love to cook so I have to cook while my family is gone. I have to watch a 22 lb. and most likely I will burn it. but I get to make spinach cheese and artichoke dip and I get to make pumpkin pie and peanutbutter pie.yummy! i think that it won't be fun because My favorinte cousin is not coming and I haven't seen her since the summer. I want to cry actually I won't because I'll see her for christmas.Back to thanks giving I have no idea what to wear I don't think anyone who reads this will care about what should wear.Ihape I have a good thanksgiving because I'm not really looking foward to it. My annoying cousin is coming and I'm a little made because he's like annoying (wow good grammar) Okay Ihave 300 words now. I think?!?!?

Halloween

OMG! my friends and I went to the haunted winery it was sooooo fun but scary! it was the first haunted house I ever went to so I was shaky. We heard rumors that there was first a room with dots and star and there were men that were dressed in suits with dots and stars. At the end a person with a chain saw was supposed to chase us but we were "hiding" behind a little girl.so they didn't chase us which I was fine by. i felt so dumb afterwards because it wasn't that scary but i was screaming along with my friends.

Homecoming was October fourth. this is the one night that everyone in the school is excited about. You get to dance with friends, go out to diner, dress formal and let your energy out. This dance allows you to be free of rejection( for the most part) and just dance the night away.

My morning started by going to get my hair and make up done. My mom and I went out to Dearbon to see my cousin at her salon. When I walked through the door I was overwhelmed with chaos. it was a very small hair salon. I guess it wasn't just Livonia Stevenson's homecoming either because there were a lot of girls getting there hair done as well. It was a lot of fun, especially since it was my cousin doing it. I find it not as fun and some what awkward when you don't know the person doing your hair. I thought my hair looked so cute,my make up shocked me at first because my cousin said it would be "subtle" if my make up was subtle, I can't imagine what regular make up would look like. I enjoyed getting my hair and makeup done but the whole time I was anxious for the dance to start.

On our way home, we had to stop at a few stores. Going into the stores was weird because I had my hair and makeup done all fancy, but I had jeans and a T-shirt on. Although I got many complements, it was still uncomfortable. When I got home, I got dressed in my dress and heels and was so excited. I couldn't wait for my friends to get to my house. We spent about an hour and a half taking pictures. It was so fun. I felt like we were being attacked by the pauperizes because all the parents were taking pictures at the same exact time.

Next, we had reservations at Papa Vino's Italian restaurant. The food was delicious! Everyone was so full afterwards. Our reservations were at 4:00, and we was done with dinner within an hour, so, we had a lot of time before the dance started. We walked around outside in our dresses and heels in the sixty-degree weather. We went to Kroger's, Office Depot, Lohman's, and Petsmart. By the end of all the stores, our feet killed. Luckily, at the dance, we were able to take off our shoes, which I was grateful for.

We got to the dance about fifteen minutes early. So, there wasn't too many people there. Before we started to dance, my group put our purses and shoes in a bag that was guarded by a parent until after the dance. The dance was so fun! I can't wait for next year. Homecoming came and went. It was sad that it had to end, but it will always be in our memories.

On Saturday night, I watched the movie The Pianist. If you are looking for a nonfiction totally true movie and about the holocaust ,I highly recommend this. The Pianist won three awards: best director, best actor and best adapted screenplay. The movie is so unbelievable, I could not imagine the events in the movie really happening in our world sixty-nine years ago.

This movie takes place in Warsaw, Germany where Wladyslaw Szpilman and his family are rich Jews living in a very high populated town. Wladyslaw is a famous pianist for the Warsaw radio station. He experiences Warsaw getting attacked as well as his radio station by German bombs. He went home from his destroyed station, to find that Great Britain and France declared war on the Nazi. Wladyslaw and his family cheered, for they thought this war would be quick, little did they known it became about a seven year war known as, world war ll. As the war began, the Nazi became stronger and stronger gaining control of the Jews. the Jews had to start wearing the Star of David on their arms, had curfews and there were places where no Jews were allowed. About a year after the war, Wladyslaw and his family was forced to pack and move to the ghettos;they could not communicate with the world beyond the walls that took their lives. Here Wladyslaw and his family witnessed horror and desperation for they hoped that one day this would all be over. A few years later Wladyslaw got split up from his family he was scared that he might never see them again. Now his worries were more towards surviving without letting the Germans know he was a Jew than thinking about his family. The only thing that could help survive the cruel years of the war was his strong love of music.
